Big Bear, Ca March 7, 2011 3:00 pm – DOVES is inviting the Big Bear community to go bowling Tuesday night in support of their domestic violence education and prevention programs. DOVES provides the only domestic violence services in the mountain communities, including a 24 hour crisis hotline, victim’s assistance programs for both women and men, a shelter that serves women and their children, a transitional housing program, legal advocacy, counseling for both children and adults, and teen violence prevention programs at both the high school and middle school. Community support is essential to maintain these services. Donations from residents of the valley allow DOVES to find matching grants to keep the programs running and develop other needed services. You can help by going online to the DOVES website at doves4help.org to make a donation. Or you can go bowling at the Bowling Barn Tuesday night beginning at 6:00 pm. Your $15 ticket includes 2 games, shoes, and a chance to win door prizes or the raffles. Call the DOVES office at 909-866-1546 for tickets.
