Book signing for School Gardens

Beth Gardner, lead author of What Grows in a Garden?, will join Katie Adams, the book’s illustrator and a Big Bear High School sophomore, for a book signing on Sun., May 29 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Big Bear Book & Bean in the Village. Published by The Lighthouse Project, What Grows in a Garden? tells the story of Big Bear Elementary students, who created the first school garden in the valley. Proceeds from sales of the book will benefit school gardens in the Bear Valley Unified School District. The Lighthouse Project is devoted to the creation of child honoring communities in which children are put first in the minds and hearts of all agencies, organizations, businesses, groups, clubs and individuals.
