Big Bear Lake, CA – Just released today, the Big Bear Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in locating a suspect in an attempted robbery at 7-11 on Big Bear Blvd and Eureka Drive in Big Bear Lake. On March 11th at approximately 12:43am, the suspect, described as a white, male, adult possibly 20 to 30 years of age, 5’9” to 5’10” with a medium build, entered 7-11 wearing a multi-colored ski mask pulled down over his face exposing only his eyes. The clerk acknowledged the suspect and immediately asked him to remove his mask at which point he responded by demanding cash from the registers. After this exchange continued a few more times and when the clerk reached for the alarm button, the suspect exited the location and fled on foot. While the clerk did not mention that the suspect had a weapon, the Sheriff’s Department states that surveillance video clearly shows some type of gun in his shirt pocket although he never removed the weapon in the presence of the clerk so it is unclear if the weapon is real or some type of replica hand gun. A photo of the suspect is available on our website. If you recognize the suspect or have any information regarding his whereabouts, contact the Big Bear Sheriff’s station at 866-0100.
