Big Bear Municipal Water District to Meet Monday Instead; Agenda Includes Possible Amendments Regarding Headwalks and Dock Lengths

The Big Bear Municipal Water District’s Board of Directors usually meets on each first and third Thursday of the month, though today’s meeting has been adjourned and will instead be held on Monday, July 20; the MWD meeting will still take place at 1pm, and at their offices at 40524 Lakeview Drive in Big Bear Lake. When the MWD Board convenes on Monday, they will review a resolution amendment with regard to headwalks, which are the fixed piers or walks that extend from the shoreline. Given new Fish and Game, as well as CEQA, requirements, and the additional obligations this presents for the MWD, Directors will consider eliminating headwalks as a dock option, as gangways are still a viable alternative. Also, prompted by a specific request, MWD will consider the resolution regarding commercial marina and private dock specifications; if approved, docks (including headways) could be of a total length of 32 feet, rather than the present 30 foot maximum.
