Big Bear Middle School will host an open house on Monday, August 3, the day before school starts, which is open to all incoming seventh grade students and new eighth grade students and their parents. The seventh grade orientation at BBMS, located on Big Bear Boulevard at Jeffries Road, will start at 3pm, at which time, Principal Julie Chamberlin tells KBHR, “Students will get a tour, and see the classrooms and the cafeteria, locker rooms, gym and our brand new quad. They can get their schedules and buy P.E. clothes, as well as order a yearbook and get some spirit-wear.” While students are touring the BBMS campus, parents can partake in an informal orientation, at either 3 or 4pm, with Principal Chamberlin and School Counselor Ron Dobis. Also on Monday, at 4pm, all homeroom class lists will be posted (in the front office windows), so all students in grades 7 and 8 will know where to be when the first bell rings at 7:41am on Tuesday, August 4. For middle school students, the tardy bell rings at 7:46am, and school gets out at 1:55pm. For bus schedule information, see our story posted July 27.
