The second, and still free, round of the Business Owners Club returns to Hofert Hall this Thursday, given funding provided by the City of Big Bear Lake, coordination by the Big Bear Chamber of Commerce, and instruction provided by the Inland Empire Small Business Development Center. All small business owners—Valley-wide, not just from Big Bear Lake—are welcome to participate in the six seminar series which, starting July 9, will be offered on every second Thursday, from 9am to noon, at Hofert Hall, located in the Big Bear Lake Civic Center at 39707 Big Bear Boulevard. Topics to be covered in the Business Owners Club include target marketing, financing, human resources management, inventory control, credit collections, and forecasting. The opening class on Thursday will address financials and company assessment. For specifics and Business Owner Club reservations, contact Kristen Gerke at the Small Business Development Center at 760/951-1592. Also on Thursday, the Big Bear Chamber hosts the monthly Power Breakfast; the 7am networking breakfast at the Best Western Big Bear Chateau will include speakers Dr. Calvin Pramann on wellness health care and Rick Shoup, new CEO of the Big Bear Lake Resort Association. Cost for the Power Breakfast is $12 for Chamber members, $15 for guests.
