Big Bear Lake, CA, December 18th, 2015 – On Monday evening the Big Bear Lake City Council voted to decide the positions of Mayor , Mayor Pro Tem, Chairman and Vice Chairman for Big Bear Lake Fire District as well as Chairman and Vice Chairman for the Successor Agency. A board made necessary when the Governor Brown signed into law the abolishing Redevelopment Agencies statewide.
Mayor David Caretto and Mayor Pro Tem Bill Jahn were re-elected back to office for another year. Chairman Rick Herrick was re-elected as Fire District Chairman with Randy Putz serving as Vice Chairman. Chairman Bob Jacowski and Vice Chairman Randy Putz were re elected to head up the Successor Agency.
In addition the Council voted to adopt a resolution which names the new pedestrian bridge over Knickerbocker Creek ‘THE CHERI AND DECLAN LAWRENCE MEMORIAL BRIDGE’ A dedication ceremony will take place on a date to be announced later. Cheri was the highly visible face of the City workforce serving as Public Information Officer, Intergovernmental Relations Manager, webmaster and City Clerk.
