Big Bear Girls Soccer Team Wins Big at Tournament

Big Bear, Ca, November 16, 2011, 1:00pm – This past weekend Big Bear was once again well represented when the Big Bear Valley’s Youth Soccer League under 18 girls team won big at a soccer tournament in Apple Valley.  The girls played three games, winning all of them, and advancing to the finals against Grand Terrace Community Soccer Club.  The team ended up beating Grand Terrace with a score of 3-2 and took first place in the tournament which hasn’t happened for Big Bear in seven years.  According to coach Luis Avalos, the victory was bittersweet, as one of the players had to drop out last minute due to the loss of her father.  Avalos said the team rallied together on her behalf and dedicated each game to their team-mate Aaron Wilson.  The Big Bear team consists of the following young ladies: Maddie Ludwig, Maddie Begley, Jessica Markum, Brianna Piper, Stephanie Avalos, Elysse Lopez, Allisun Thomas, Niya Custer, Naomi Nelson, Riley Ludwig, Soleil Olsen, Diana Escorcia, Yolanda Caspar, Jennie Bakhos, Stephanie Faraci, Justine McGowen, Kaysi Pilcher, and Aaron Wilson.  KBHR congratulates the Big Bear team on their All Star Victory!
