Big Bear City, CA, October 28, 2015 – On October 25, 2015, at approximately 1:12 PM, a fatal traffic collision occurred on SR-38, east of Canyon Road. At the time of the collision, there was a high overcast with clear visibility in place. Mr. Michael Gardner, an 18 year old male out of Hesperia, California, was driving a 2005 Ford F-150 and was westbound on SR-38, east of Canyon Road. Mr. Dennis Stevens, a 69 year old male from Big Bear City, was riding a 2015 Indian Scout motorcycle and was travelling eastbound on SR-38, approaching Mr. Gardner. Mr. Gardner allowed his vehicle to veer over the double yellow lines, striking Mr. Stevens’ motorcycle head-on. Mr. Stevens was transported to Bear Valley Hospital, but succumbed to his injuries.
