Big Bear, Ca February 27, 2011 6:00 pm – The Big Bear Community Emergency Response Team program wants to train you to respond in case of an emergency. CERT volunteers help by putting out small fires, turning off gas lines, providing light search and rescue, and administering first aid in their neighborhoods during disasters. Trained CERT volunteers are key to the valley’s disaster preparedness plan. A 20 hour training course will be held at the Big Bear City Fire station on March 21 – 25, from 6:00 – 10:00 pm. Pre-registration is required and early sign up is suggested as the class size is limited. The cost is only $10 per person to participate. Call the Big Bear City Fire Department at 585-2362 to get trained for the CERT program.
