Big Bear, Ca, June 24, 2011, 8:00am – The Big Bear Bridge Celebration will take place on June 24th, and many people are expected to attend. As parking is limited near the dam, and new bridge, there will be a shuttle service that will leave from City hall from 10am to 1:00pm. Some people are choosing to enjoy the ceremony via watercraft, either on one of the tour boats in town, by personal boat, or canoe or kayak. Those taking the water route are reminded by the Municipal Water District that they are to obey the rules of the lake, and to not cross the boon line. Those who will be on boats, or who wont be able to attend the ceremony can tune in to KBHR for event coverage. Also a friendly reminder, please do not park in private driveways, or parking areas, as residents need to be able to get to and from their houses. The City of Big Bear Lake and the Resort Association are encouraging everyone to attend, to wear red, white, and blue, and to wave flags or hang an American flag from their boat.
