At this afternoon’s special closed session meeting of the Board of Directors of the Big Bear Airport District, the Board appointed a new general manager from the final list of seven candidates. Pete Gwaltney, aviation professional with over 15 years of management experience, will be joining the Big Bear Airport team as GM on November 2nd. Gwaltney is familiar with high altitude towns coming from Colorado Springs, CO. He has worked as a Product Manager for Jeppesen Corporation and United Airlines and held the position of Director of Sales and Marketing for Peak Vista Technology. In addition, Gwaltney held various management positions at FedEx. He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Professional Aeronautics from Embry-Riddle University with continuing studies toward his Master of Business Administration degree.
