Big Bear, Ca, August 30, 2010, 4:00pm – This weekend marked the series finale for the Rim Nordic Mountain bike series. Teams from Big Bear, California, and Las Vegas came together to compete in Super-D and Cross Country races. Team Bear Valley Bikes came away with the top spot in both race categories, surpassing the competition in points, and team members. Pro-rider, team captain, and owner of Bear Valley Bikes bike shop, Derek Hermon, was proud of his team, and what they all accomplished together. “Bear Valley Bikes is a family,” said Hermon, “ we cant just do it with a few people, it takes all of us to win, and we all love what we do!” Hermon won the Super-D overalls in the Pro Category, and Sean Donovan of team Cytomax/KHS won the pro overall in the cross-country division, with Romolo Forcino of team Chains Required coming in second. Other series winners include Bear Valley Bikes team members: Dan Nielsen, Dean Swank, Karen Lundgren, Elle Williams, Casey Williams, Cameron Williams, Evan Williams, Ronda Warden, Connor McCutchon, Steven Fogt, Griffith Vertican, Michelle Russell, and Ana Dvorak. Other winners include: Bryan Taylor of Chains Required, David Stowell of Cal Coast Bicycles, Manuel Luna of Tri-a-bike, Mark Mazakas of Lake Arrowhead, Sabine Petersen of Mama Duck Racing, and Danika Bates of Rim of the World High School.
