Big Bear, Ca, November 23, 2010, 5:00pm – Skiers and snowboarders are invited to get a jumpstart on the long holiday weekend, pack up their gear and head over to Bear Mountain, tomorrow, for the first day of the 2010-2011 season. With a weekend storm that added four to six inches of fresh snowfall and allowed for around-the-clock snowmaking, conditions will be excellent for the Thanksgiving holiday. Bear Mountain will open Chair 9 on Wednesday accessing Park Run, which will be stacked with jibs and snow features. Snow Summit, which opened last Saturday, has opened Summit Run this week for more lifts and runs to access throughout the week as conditions permit. This Friday and Saturday beginning at 3 p.m., Snow Summit will also offer the first night sessions of the season. New for the 2010-2011 season, Bear Mountain introduces its Skill Builder Parks™, designed for beginning terrain park skiers and snowboarders, offering interactive features, rails, boxes and transitions to help guests refine and improve their skills.
