Big Bear, CA, March 5, 2016 – Big Bear High School’s Friday Night Live/Peer Leadership Club will be participating in Friday Night Live’s county-wide “Safe and Sober Prom” campaign and will be attending the upcoming Sober Prom press conference being held in Ontario on Thursday, April 7.
The BBHS Friday Night Live/Peer Leadership Club is a community outreach club that provides students with real life skills, goals, and pushes to reduce drug and alcohol related issues among the student body. Friday Night Live, who is facilitating the entire “Safe and Sober Prom” Campaign, is a state program whose goal is to promote healthy lifestyles free of alcohol, tobacco, or other substance abuse among youth.
The “Safe and Sober Prom” campaign is a community-based effort to reduce incidents of underage drinking parties, drunk driving, and other alcohol-related issues among the student body around prom and graduation. The press conference will be the initial media kick-off for the campaign.
