Baldwin Lake, CA, April 2, 2012, 8:00am – The Baldwin Lake Ecological Reserve on Highway 18 along the north shore of Baldwin Lake will open April 7 for visitors to explore and learn about pebble plain environments that are unique to the San Bernardino National Forest. Opening day will feature a wildflower hike that will depart at 11:30am. The Reserve also provides a home for wildlife. Coyotes, jackrabbits, lizards and deer live in and around the reserve. In a partnership between the California Department of Fish and Game and the National Forest Association, Baldwin Lake Ecological Reserve will be open to the public and staffed by volunteers from 10am until 2pm every Saturday through June 30.
