The community is coming together in support of Marilyn Vecchio this coming Saturday, in an event that will benefit the woman who has long taken care of other families through her work with the MOM Project. The Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District and Community Church by the Lake, along with Sylas.net, have partnered to host a dinner benefit billed as That’s Amoré, proceeds from which will help the Vecchio family, which includes Marilyn’s husband Tony and six children, as she battles leukemia. The October 17 event will feature a spaghetti dinner and live music from local entertainers at a pre-sale cost of $10 per ticket, available at both the Rec and Park offices on Park Avenue and at Community Church, located on the Boulevard at Knickerbocker, which also serves as the venue for That’s Amoré. Dinner will begin at 6:30pm on Saturday, and tickets will also be available at the door, for a cost of $15.
