Big Bear City, CA, May 12, 2014 – An arraignment hearing is scheduled today at San Bernardino County Superior Court for 29-year-old Joshua Ryan Kahle. Kahle faces felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and remains in custody at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bail.
The arrest was a byproduct of a separate investigation. After a male victim of multiple stab wounds was brought to Bear Valley Community Hospital on May 2, Sheriff’s Deputies found related evidence at a residence on the 1000 block of Sierra Avenue in Big Bear City. Although the suspect or suspects in the stabbing remain outstanding, the search warrant revealed a small marijuana grow and methamphetamine. On May 8, deputies took Joshua Kahle and 39-year-old Denese McDaniel into custody on charges unrelated to the stabbing and booked into the Big Bear Jail.
McDaniel was booked on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance and outstanding misdemeanor warrants with bail set at $35,000. McDaniel was released on bail and court procedures are currently in process.
