Big Bear City, March 20, 2014 – Sheriff’s Deputies responded on Monday to a report that a 17-year-old male resident of Big Bear City had sent sexually explicit pictures and messages via social media and texts to numerous female juveniles. The Big Bear Detectives’ Bureau has so far identified 13 victims between the ages of 14 and 17. The suspect–who is currently on felony probation on unrelated charges–is now in custody at San Bernardino County Juvenile Hall. On March 19, the Juvenile District Attorney’s Office filed a complaint against the suspect on multiple criminal charges.
Distributing nude photographs and sexually explicit content depicting minors is a crime, and parents are encouraged to talk with their children about the importance of immediately reporting any obscene materials received.
