Big Bear Lake, CA, December 4, 2013 – The Big Bear Lake Resort Association is now doing business as the Big Bear Visitors Bureau. The name change was approved by the Association’s board of directors at its last board meeting in November.
Director of Operations Rebecca Hrabia explained, “‘Resort Association’ is not a common term used in the travel industry. We have progressed so much over the years that it was only fitting to change our name to something that ties in well with our mission to promote tourism in Big Bear.”
The name change comes in time for the organization’s 20-year anniversary in 2014.
Big Bear Visitors Bureau is a voluntary membership-based organization charged with marketing the Big Bear Valley. Voluntary membership dues give it a marketing budget of over $1,000,000, which pays for television and radio advertising, broadcast promotions, publicity, Internet, Central reservations and collateral materials, including the Big Bear Lake Visitor’s Guide and the Where to Eat, Shop & Play Guide.
