Big Bear Lake, CA, March 8, 2013 – The Southern California Mountains Foundation is looking for volunteers to plant trees in the San Bernardino National Forest. Interested volunteers should meet at the Lytle Creek Ranger Station located at 1209 Lytle Creek Road in the Mt. Baldy-Wrightwood area at 9am Saturday, March 9. Participants will carpool from the ranger station to the tree planting site. Volunteers should wear heavy work shoes. All tools and gloves will be provided, and no experience is needed. Students at North Shore Elementary School will also be celebrating Arbor Day by planting trees around their campus. Students from the afterschool Nature Discovery Club, sponsored by the Southern California Mountains Foundation, will be planting trees around the campus on March 11, 2013.
