Old Miners Big Bear Heritage Parade In June

Big Bear Lake, CA, February 26, 2013 – The City of Big Bear Lake Planning Commission granted a permit for the Old Miners Association to have the 2013 Big Bear Heritage Parade at 4pm on Saturday, June 15, 2013. The Association wanted to move the Parade to mid- June in response to the City’s new special events ordinance, which established guidelines to balance the positive and negative impacts of events on the local economy. Major events that take place on City property or streets from seven days before the Fourth of July weekend to seven days after Labor Day now require a special finding from the City. This year the Association expects that the Heritage Parade will become the way of saying “Big Bear is Open for the Summer.” The Parade will travel the same route as last year, starting in the Snow Summit Brownie Lane Parking Lot moving along Big Bear Boulevard ending at the Big Bear Middle School.
