Adopt A Wild Horse Or Burro

Redlands, CA, January 10, 2012 – Twelve wild horses and three wild burros are looking for new homes. On Saturday Jan. 12, 2013, the Sundance Ranch in Redlands will host a Bureau of Land Management (BLM) Wild Horse and Burro Adoption from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The Sundance Ranch is located at 27273 Pilgrim Road (off San Timoteo Canyon Road), Redlands CA 92373. The adoption fee is $125.  The adopter agrees to act as caretaker for one year, during which time the adopted horse or burro remains the property of the Federal Government.  After one year of providing proper care, the adopter may apply for and receive ownership title. All animals are healthy and are up to date on vaccinations and deworming. Each animal must be provided a minimum of 400 square feet (20’x20’), the corral must be pipe or wood construction and have a shelter with two sides and a roof.  Horses more than 18 months of age must have a fence at least 6 ft tall.  Younger horses under 18 months require a fence 5 ft tall and burros require a 4 ½ ft fence.
