Arrests And Recovery Of Stolen Property

Big Bear City, CA, October 26, 2012, 6am – Following investigative leads, deputies and detectives from the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station executed a search warrant at a residence on the 300 block of Grenfall in Big Bear City on October 23rd.   The search ultimately led to the recovery of property valued at approximately $12,000, which included a stolen motorcycle, stolen firearm, several stolen power tools, and musical instruments.  During execution of the warrant, detectives determined suspects Andrew and Rebecca Hampton, residents of Big Bear City, to be in possession of the stolen property that was recovered. Rebecca Hampton was arrested without incident and booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of being in possession of stolen property.  She remains in custody at West Valley Detention Center in lieu of $25,000 bail.  Andrew Hampton was released due to medical conditions with felony charges pending.  The case has been forwarded to the District Attorney’s office for review and filing of a criminal complaint.
