Big Bear Lake, CA, July 13, 2012, noon – Two men from the San Bernardino Area have been arrested for recent burglaries in Big Bear Valley. As a result of ongoing efforts of deputies and detectives of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station, Phillip Galarza and Robert Marquez were arrested on July 11 in connection with multiple burglaries that have recently been committed throughout the Big Bear Valley. A victim of a recent burglary was able to provide detectives with the description of a vehicle that was driven by the suspects, who were located by deputies at a lodge in Big Bear Lake. The suspects were in possession of stolen property and a stolen vehicle. Galarza was taken into custody for questioning and Marquez attempted to flee, but was taken into custody after a short foot pursuit. Detectives recovered a large quantity of stolen property, valued at approximately $15,000. Both men were booked into the Big Bear Jail on felony charges of burglary, possession of stolen property, possession of a stolen vehicle, and possession of a controlled substance.
