Big Bear, Ca, March 22, 2011, 8:00am – The 15th Annual Victor Alvarez Memorial Race will be held this Saturday March 26th at Snow Summit. Head over to Snow Summit at 10:00am to see the best local and Southern California skiers race in a Giant Slalom style course. Those interested in participating should arrive at Snow Summit between 8:00am and 9:30am and register in the VIP room of the Bear Bottom Lodge. Entry fees are $50 for children 15 and under and $70 for those 16 and older and includes a lift ticket, t- shirt and race fees. The Victor Alvarez Memorial race is a fundraiser for the Snow Summit Junior Race Team, and team members and parents assist in the organization and operation of the race and silent auction. If you want to participate but don’t want to race, there will be a large silent auction which is open to the public with many great items to bid on including a trip for two, including lodging and airfare to Breckenridge, Colorado, tickets to Kings, Clippers, and Lakers games, ski and snowboard equipment and much more. The race will take place in the Jim Bollingmo Race arena, located at the bottom of Miracle Mile, that is a very viewer friendly slope, so everyone is invited to cheer on the competitors.
