Big Bear Lake, CA, May 19, 2011, 8:00am – In honor of International Building Safety Month, May 2011, the City will host its annual Building & Safety Open House Thursday, May 19, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. in Hofert Hall at the Civic Center, located at 39707 Big Bear Blvd. Admission is free. Residents, homeowners, contractors, industry partners and members of the community are encouraged to attend. The event will join a worldwide recognition that is intended to raise awareness by promoting the use, enforcement, and understanding of building safety and fire prevention codes to protect lives and property. Several vendors from the building industry, as well as local contractors, will be on hand to highlight their products, market their services and provide information. In addition, staff from various City departments, including Code Compliance, Engineering, Planning, and Building & Safety will be available to answer questions.
