Big Bear City, Ca. May 9, 2014– On the local racing scene it was a full house for the season kickoff at the Orange Show in San Bernardino. The Big Bear fans were out in force as the promoters proved once again that entertainment priced well will attract families. With 70 cars racing and over 2500 in attendance Bir Bear racer Jesse Lawson in the Mercer Tire car was top finisher in his class for the night.. Jim Conklin driving the Conklin Paint car scored a podium finish but it was Lawson who captured 1st in the main event and now has a solid lead in the season points with 27 …. Conklin captured 20 season points. Jesse tells KBHR that he felt like a race driver superstar as fans embraced his win with “Go Jesse” chants and lines of autographs. The next Orange Show race is scheduled for May 31st.
Two wheels and one human motor with enough gas to finish 120 miles in a single day for 8 days in a row. The Amgen Tour of California begins this weekend in Sacramento .. Big Bear is not on the schedule this year.
