Smoke had already been drifting into the valley for several days from wildfires throughout California when a fire broke out at approximately 1:45pm today south of Oak Glen. By 4pm, the blaze had covered at least several dozen acres in the Pisgah Peak area north of Wildwood Canyon and south of Potato Canyon Road
The aircraft known as the Hawaii mars carrying 7200 gallons of water is on scene and a DC10 is on order.
Highway 38 is not threatened at this time, but there may be delays for motorists.
