Big Bear, Ca, March 2, 2011, 1:00pm – Big Bear Sheriff’s Deputies are looking into reports of a male adult with medium length gray hair following female juveniles home from school. On Monday, February 28, 2011, deputies of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station responded to an incident wherein it was reported that two female juveniles had been followed home after school in the area of Big Bear High School by a male adult, who was on foot. The juveniles were able to get home safely and report the incident to a parent who then contacted the Sheriff’s Department. Deputies conducted a search of the area, but were unable to locate a subject matching the reported description. One of the juveniles had also reported that the same subject followed her on the previous Friday, February 25. Investigation of this matter is ongoing. Anyone having information regarding this incident is encouraged to contact the Detective Bureau of the Big Bear Sheriff’s Station at (909) 866-0100. Information can also be reported anonymously by calling the WETIP hotline at (800) 78-CRIME. In addition parents are encouraged to talk with their kids about personal safety issues in a manner that is age appropriate for the child.
