Big Bear Lake, CA, December 9, 2013 – For the past ten years, the Fire & Burn Foundation has been providing winter camp for burn survivor children ages 5-17 in the San Bernardino Mountains.
Over four days, 60-85 kids–typically from Riverside, San Bernardino and San Diego Counties–get the counseling and social support needed to re-establish and enhance their self-esteem. And to let kids just be kids, there’s also ice skating, horseback riding, DJ’s or live bands, cooking classes, team building activities, dancing instruction, and professional storytellers.
If you’d like to underwrite a child’s participation, your donation of $500 will provide the following:
Transportation to and from camp
Housing and meals for four days
Counseling sessions led by trained social workers
Skilled Nursing staff
Special Activities
February 10 is the deadline to donate for the February 14-17 session at the Presbyterian Conference Center.
