There are some civic meetings being held today (Wednesday, August 5), and those include the Planning Commission of Big Bear Lake and the Board of Trustees for the Bear Valley Unified School District. This afternoon’s Planning Commission meeting, to be held in Hofert Hall at the Civic Center at 1:15pm, will include two Public Hearing items. The first is a request to subdivide a 32,800 square foot parcel containing a single family dwelling at 42262 Fox Farm Road into two parcels; the second is consideration of a special event (including alcohol and a concert), Big Bear Uncorked, to be held by the Rotary Club at 40803 Village Drive on August 8, during the Big Bear Lake Antique Car Club’s Fun Run.
The school district’s Board of Trustees meets at 5:15pm for their regular meeting, with open session scheduled to begin at 6:30pm, and to be held at the BVUSD offices at 42271 Moonridge Road. This evening’s school board meeting will include consideration of the BVUSD calendar and, potentially, a decision with regard to a new principal for Baldwin Lane Elementary School, given the resignation of Rosa Murillo, effective next Thursday.
The Board of Directors of the Big Bear Airport District, which generally meets on the first Wednesday of each month, will instead convene on Monday, August 10 at 2:30pm.
