Big Bear Valley, CA — The parents of the group Big Bear High School PSA, which stands for Parents Supporting Academics, will once again host a Tax Day Soiree on April 15, with this year’s proceeds designated for the purchase of a new electronic marquee, as the existing sign blew off the high school during a snowstorm this winter. Community members and parents are invited to celebrate the end of tax season from 5 to 9pm next Thursday at Nottingham’s in the Village as the Tax Day Soiree will include appetizers, dancing and an opportunity drawing, all for a suggested donation of $10. The fundraiser will also feature a silent auction and, mindful of the difficult economy, many items are goods and services that people always need to buy, as well as Angels tickets, pontoon rentals, massages and bowling parties. Last year’s effort helped to fund completion of the BBHS quad and funds generated at April 15’s Tax Day Soiree, notes PSA President Malissa Parker, “will be used to buy a new electronic marquee that will be installed in front of the high school. It will announce important academic, social and sporting events, and has the potential to raise additional funds for the school.” For more information on the event, or the high school’s PSA group, call 585-8411.
