
Big Bear, Ca, February 2, 2011, 4:00pm – 65 year old Jim Otterstrom passed away on January 22nd, 2011. Jim was well known around Big Bear from his long time job at the Big Bear Lake post office, walking his dog around town, riding his bike, and for his environmentally conscious lifestyle. “He lived as we all should, with gratitude and a profound respect for all.” Said family friend Julie Markling. “The sierra club is really going to miss such an outspoken environmentalist in our community, he was an example on how to live a life right. “ Said Christie Walker Bos, President of the Big Bear Sierra Club. Jim passed in Utah, where he and wife Peggy had moved to spend time with his aging mother. Jim is survived by his wife Peggy Otterstrom; his children Noreen Griffin, Jimmy and Jamie Otterstrom, mother Lois Hapson; brother Kerry Otterstrom; sisters Linda and JoAnne Otterstrom, and Luka Lecklinger, and his furry four legged friend Dallas. The date of the memorial service has yet to be announced.
