Big Bear Lake, CA, April 4th, 2016 – A good businessperson is always looking for ways to save costs. Bear Valley Electric Service (BVES) has a program designed to help local businesses in the Big Bear Region achieve that end.
The BVES Commercial Grant Program provides up to $10,000 in grant funding to local businesses to implement innovative, energy efficient technologies that will improve their energy usage and lower their electric bills. Two businesses in the Big Bear region have already seen substantial savings with the program.
Alpine Gardens in Big Bear City is expecting a return on investment of nearly 90% on their major LED lighting project by the end of this year. The commercial center’s tenants, who include a laundromat, doughnut shop, and beauty supply store, have reported a 30+percent reduction in their electric bills in just a four-month period.
Stater Bros Market in Big Bear Lake also participated in the Commercial Grant Program by improving the lighting in the store with LED technology. This improvement allows for lighting output to be dimmed to 60-70% during the day which provides about a 25% reduction on their monthly lighting costs.
