The San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department is conducting a death investigation, prompted by an incident at a Big Bear Lake cabin involving a man from San Clemente Wednesday afternoon. Per the statement released by the office of County Sheriff and Coroner Rod Hoops: “On Wednesday, June 24 at approximately 2:40pm, San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies from the Big Bear Lake Station responded to check the welfare of a guest at the Shore Acres Lodge. The lodge is located in the 40,000 block of Lakeview Drive in the City of Big Bear Lake. Upon arrival, the 48-year-old victim, Jung Kim from San Clemente, was found deceased in a cabin he had rented. Kim appears to have died from a gunshot wound. However, it was not clear whether the fatal injury was self-inflicted or if Kim fell victim to foul play. Detectives with the San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department’s Homicide Detail responded and are conducting a death investigation.
