Highway 18 Nightly Closures at Big Bear Dam for Bridge Project Beginning Sunday 09/19/2010 by Cathy Herrick Big Bear Lake, CA, September 13, 2010, 8:00am – Highway 18 will be closed at the Big Bear dam at night beginning Sunday September 19th, and lasting until Friday September 24th, for construction of the Big Bear Bridge Project. The front grade will be closed at the dam from 10:00pm- 4:00am, so if you plan on traveling up and down the mountain during these times, you’ll need to use Highway 38 through Mentone, or Highway 18 through Lucerne Valley.
