Free Wellness Screenings and Child Immunizations Available in Big Bear Lake This Week

Big Bear Lake, CA — This week offers two opportunities for free health screenings, the first of which will be offered at Walgreens on Thursday. From noon until 8pm, community members are welcome to visit the AARP-sponsored Walgreens Wellness Tour Bus at the Walgreens located on the Moonridge Y in Big Bear Lake. The six free health screenings will include cholesterol, blood pressure, bone density, glucose, waist circumference and body mass index. No appointment is necessary for these screenings on June 3 which, again, take place from noon until 8pm. On Saturday, the Bear Valley Community Healthcare District sponsors a free immunization and low-cost well child health exam clinic, starting at 8am. This opportunity is available to children, ages zero to 18, without health insurance, though those with MediCal are welcome; MediCal applications will also be available at the clinic at the Family Health Center on Summit Boulevard.
