FireFighters Quest for Burn Survivors Relay Makes 14th Annual Visit to Big Bear Valley Fire Stations

Big Bear Valley, CA — Throughout the morning (Monday, May 3), local fire departments host the 14th annual FireFighters Quest for Burn Survivors Relay, during which time representatives from the non-profit will be collecting funds (including the $2,000 collected during Saturday’s Big Bear City Fire Department car wash) to aid burn survivors. FireFighters Quest volunteers’ first stop will be the Big Bear City Fire Department for a check presentation from the Big Bear City Professional Firefighters Association and the Bear Valley Firemen’s Association in the 10am hour; subsequent check presentations will be made at San Bernardino County Fire Station #49 in Fawnskin at 10:45am and then the Big Bear Lake Fire Department, to receive a check from the Big Bear Lake Firefighters Association at 11:30am. As with each year that the Firefighters Quest for Burn Survivors Relay flies in to Big Bear, volunteer representatives will be treated to lunch at the Grizzly Manor Café. Update: Today’s donations to FireFighters Quest total $4,250, which is a new record for contributions from Big Bear Valley firefighters. Funds raised through the Big Bear Lake Fire Department’s “Fill the Boot” campaign and the Big Bear City Fire Department’s car wash on May 1 made this possible, so local firefighters extend their gratitude to the community of Big Bear Valley.
