Redlands, CA, January 15, 2014 – Barnes & Noble Redlands is treating teachers right.
The bookstore invites middle and high school students to enter the My Favorite Teacher Contest for a chance to win cash and recognition for their school. It starts with kids writing an essay, poem or thank-you letter for an educator that has especially influenced them. The store will enter the local winner into the regional contest, which will reward five winners with a NOOK® and a $500 Barnes & Noble gift card. From the pool of regional winners, one will get the Barnes & Noble National Teacher of the Year title and a $5,000 donation to their school. Click here for the official rules and entry form.
Barnes & Noble Redlands is also hosting Educator Appreciation Days this week. Today through Sunday, teachers get a 25% discount on select items and a chance to win a school visit from the authors of Fuddles, Evertaster, or Jack and the Zombie Attack.
Additionally, educators can attend “Appy Hour” this weekend, an event that includes refreshments and demonstrations of educational apps for the K-12 classroom. Appy Hour is at 1pm on Saturday, January 18 and Sunday, January 19 at 27460 Lugonia Avenue in the Citrus Plaza in Redlands.
