Big Bear, Ca, August 30, 2011, 3:00pm – Entitlement is defined as “the right to demand or receive.” It is a social epidemic that is at the core of most major issues that we see in young people today. It can be traced to adolescent depression, disrespectful behavior, poor performance in school, bullying, drug and alcohol use and that sense of nothing is ever enough…and that just barely scratches the surface. For these reasons, the Entitlement Workshop is back by popular demand this year. The five workshop series will allow adults to discover why their best intentions often backfire when children reach adolescence. The series will help parents learn how a few minor adjustments in their approach can bring better results with teens. The series which starts August 31st, will run every Wednesday night through October 5th at Community Church by the Lake. Parents who cant find a baby sitter are in luck as there will be child care for kids age 5 and under and youth group activities for kids age 6-14. Workshops will begin at 6:30pm, with an optional dinner at 6:00pm. The Entitlement Series is being put on by Big Bear Common Ground, a program of the Lighthouse Project.
