Dr. Rudy Macioge has returned to Bear Valley Unified School District. It was determined at last night’s meeting of the Board of Trustees for BVUSD that Macioge would assume the role of interim superintendent, as current Superintendent Carole Ferraud plans to leave the district on September 4 and, at present, is on Family Medical Leave. Macioge was superintendent for BVUSD for ten years, from 1987 to 1997, and most recently served as interim superintendent for Lucerne Valley Unified School District. In other news from the July 8 school board meeting, Trustees accepted the resignation of Principal Rosa Murillo, who will be leaving Baldwin Lane Elementary School, effective August 13. In her almost two years at the elementary, Murillo was instrumental in Baldwin Lane’s 2008 honor as a California Distinguished School. In additional personnel news for BVUSD, Kevin McDonald was hired as the wrestling coach for Big Bear High School for the 2009/2010 school year.
