Big Bear, Ca, December 8, 2011, 12:00pm – The Big Bear City Community Services District will be moving people into new positions in the next few months. Currently the CSD board has been reviewing qualified candidates for the position of General Manager. At a special meeting scheduled for Monday, December 12th, board members will decide on how many candidates they want to interview. According to Mary Reeves, at the CSD, a new GM should be selected by the end of January or beginning of February. As for the Water Superintendent position, the CSD Board recently selected Jerry Griffiths for the job. Griffiths was originally hired in October of 2002 as a water service worker, and was promoted to Water Forman in 2007. Griffiths will begin the new position on December 31st. Current Interim General Manager Tim Moran will be retiring on December 30th after 32 years of service, first as a paid call firefighter in 1979, then transitioning in April of 1981 as a water service man in the water department, was promoted to Water Forman in 1984, Water Superintendent in 2007, and has been both the Water Superintendent and Interim General Manager for the past year. Moran told KBHR that the CSD was “a great place to work… I couldn’t ask for a better career anywhere.” KBHR thanks Moran on his many years of service to the Big Bear Community, and congratulates him on his retirement.
