Big Bear Lake, CA, April 6, 2011, noon – People who can identify the early signs of a heart attack and then know how to respond are saving thousands of lives every year. CPR administered within the first five minutes of an incident greatly enhances the chance of survival. The Big Bear Lake Fire Department will be conducting its next Heartsaver CPR/AED class on Saturday, April 9 from 9am to noon. Firefighter/paramedics will teach attendees how to perform one-rescuer adult, child, and infant CPR as well as the basics of the automatic external defibrillator (AED). The April 9 class will be at the Big Bear Lake Fire Department, 41090 Big Bear Boulevard, Big Bear Lake. Class size is limited so reserve your seat with a $40 per person fee, which must be paid prior to the class. Attendees will receive American Heart Association reference materials and a two-year CPR/AED certification card. For those interested in certifying or re-certifying for Healthcare Provider, the next class is Saturday, April 9 at 1:00 p.m. for a person fee of $50 that is to be paid prior to the class to reserve your participation in the class.
