On Friday, August 14 the County of San Bernardino launched the Medical Marijuana Identification Card Program, which is now being administered by the County’s Department of Public Health. Appointments are required of those applying for medical marijuana cards, and applicants must apply in person once the appointment is made for weekdays, 9am to noon and 1 to 4pm. According to Dr. Maxwell Ohikhuare, the County’s Health Officer, “It’s important to prepare for the visit to ensure all the necessary documents are in order.” Full instructions are available by calling the Department of Public Health at 800-782-4264, or by visiting their MMIC website page. The fee for the program is $166 cash in the exact amount, and $83 for MediCal beneficiaries; the Medical Marijuana Identification Card is issued for a one-year term, and is renewable on an annual basis. The MMIC program is located at the offices of the County’s Department of Public Health at 351 North Mountain View Avenue, on the second floor, in San Bernardino.
