Supervisors for San Bernardino County meet this morning at 10am and, during today’s regular meeting, are scheduled to approve a $291,000 expenditure for asphalt slurry seal projects for roads in Sugarloaf and other, unincorporated areas of the Big Bear Valley. Other items on the agenda include approval of new identity theft prevention programs for the Big Bear Valley and Bloomington Recreation and Park Districts, as a means of complying with new Federal Trade Commission requirements and protection for consumers; and the declaration of a vacancy on the CSA 53B Commission. Dr. Don Eads was appointed to the CSA 53B Commission, which addresses fire and sewer concerns for Fawnskin, in May of this year, and his term was to expire in January 2013. In November of 2008, Eads had asked to step down from his appointed position as the fifth member of the Governing Board of the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency; this term was to expire in January 2011. Eads did remain on the BBARWA Board until this May when County Supervisor Neil Derry appointed Tom Brandau to complete the term.
