Yesterday’s meeting of the Board of Supervisors of San Bernardino County did not include the appointment of Fawnskin resident Todd Murphy to the Big Bear Area Regional Wastewater Agency Governing Board. Given the potential for conflict, as Murphy is an elected director to the Big Bear Municipal Water District, it was decided at the county’s February 3 meeting that legal counsel would review before Murphy’s post was secured as the fifth, yet only appointed, member to the BBARWA Governing Board, alongside the two directors each from the City Council of Big Bear Lake and the Big Bear City Community Services District. Per Third District Supervisor Neil Derry’s office, Murphy’s appointment is not yet on the County Supervisors’ agenda as the appointment is still under counsel review. Murphy was the only individual from Fawnskin, or County Service Area 53B to apply for the appointment. The next meeting of the BBARWA Board, a budget workshop, is scheduled for this Friday at 2:30pm.
