San Bernardino County Supervisors this week approved a temporary transfer of funds to seven school districts, including Bear Valley Unified; BVUSD will receive 3.6 of 22.9 million being distributed to districts that also include Baker Valley, Colton Joint Unified, Lucerne Valley Unified, Rim of the World Unified, Snowline Joint Unified and Yucaipa-Calimesa Joint Unified. County Supervisors on July 14 also approved the other items related to our community, including an extension of supplemental military leave benefits for employees of the Big Bear Valley Recreation and Park District, the agreement with the Big Bear City Community Services District for the continuation of the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Program, and amendments to the snow removal contract with the City of Big Bear Lake. The County will continue to perform snow removal from Stanfield Cutoff and Division Drive, but will no longer be responsible for Sheephorn Road, Menlo Drive and Villa Grove Avenue in Moonridge; in exchange, the City will continue to do snow removal on roads within the County’s unincorporated areas including Mill Creek Road, Tulip Lane and Jay Bird Lane, though eliminated from this contract are Fox Farm Road, McAlister Road, Juniper Drive, Redwood Drive, Constellation Drive, Edelweiss Drive, Waldstrasse Way, Alta Vista Avenue, Alpenweg Drive and Cougar Road. In other road news from the Supervisors meeting, road improvement and maintenance projects were approved for Lucerne Valley’s Meridian Road and High Road; repaving will begin in October for completion in November.
