There is just one Big Bear-specific item on today’s agenda for the San Bernardino County Board of Supervisors meeting, which takes place in the County Government Center at 10am. Before the Board will be a recommendation to approve a motel license for Nature’s Inn, located on Greenway Drive in Big Bear City and owned by Edward Stanik. The Board of Supervisors are also expected to adopt a resolution in support of International Denim Day, which is tomorrow, April 22 (which is also Earth Day). Denim Day was initiated by the Los Angeles group Peace Over Violence 10 years ago in response to an Italian Supreme Court decision in which a rape conviction was overturned because the female victim was wearing jeans. During this, Sexual Assault Awareness Month, wearing jeans on International Denim Day has become a symbol of protest against destructive attitudes toward sexual assault.
