The Bear Valley Co-Op in the Pines Pre-School, Big Bear’s only parent participation pre-school, has been in operation since 1963 and, in those 45+ years, Charlene Stalcup has led instruction and encouraged the Valley’s littles to “surprise your mouth” for 38 years. The pre-school recently generated nearly $4,000 in their annual basket raffle fundraiser and the winners of the two Palm Springs getaway packages were Tina Lawson, a Co-op auntie, and Susie Lerma, a Co-op graduate who attended the pre-school when it was at Fawnkin’s historic Miller Park. Now at the Big Bear Christian Center at 800 Greenspot in Big Bear City, Co-Op in the Pines has opened enrollment for their 46th class, which is open to children ages 2 years, 9 months—and potty-trained. Enrollment information is available by calling Linda Stamer at 585-2444 prior to the Open House scheduled for Tuesday, May 12.
